Guru - The Otherside

With a career that spans over a decade and one that is now eleven-LP’s deep, Guru has been able to stay relevant when many of his counterparts have faded into the background. This song is featured on Slightly Stoopids album Chronchitis, and has a very mellow beat.

B.o.B- I'll Be In The Sky

B.o.B from Atlanta, Georgia is a producer, writer, rapper, arranges, and mixes his own music. He is obviously extremely talented and you should be seeing a new cd from him pretty soon. He was also on the new Paper Trails CD.

What does B.o.B stand for?

B.o.B means different things for different situations. If you enjoy being on Cloud 9, B.o.B can stand for Bring One Blunt or Bring One Beer. About your money, then Business Over Bullsh!t is for you. Perhaps your skill is education, then B.o.B means Books Over Bullets, or if you enjoy B.o.B’s self-created production it means you have his Beats On Blast. The important thing to B.o.B is that when it comes to entertaining you, “I got everything you need when you need it. I know how to make you sing.”

Mac Lethal - Calm Down Baby

Mac Lethal - Calm Down Baby (Lyrics)

From the album "11:11"

Hello world,

I am very proud to present to you, after a long time in development, the "Calm Down Baby" music video! My great friend, and video director, Kyle Harbaugh and I really pushed the limits of guerilla style DIY entertainment with this one. Everything from the grenade launcher van explosions, to the thrashing of the Japanese restaurant cost us under $6,000. We are absolutely thrilled to finally show the world this creation. Please show this video to everyone you think would enjoy it. I believe anyone who likes seeing shit get blown up will enjoy this.

Heiruspecs - 5ves

Well into the second generation of hip-hop, Heiruspecs are aware of the tradition from which they have grown--the track "Dollar" even name checks some of their influences. However, an awareness of history has also allowed them to push and pull against any limitations that tend to shadow the commercial ascension of any new musical genre. Favoring bands like De La Soul, the recurring electric piano parts tie part of their sonic identity more into seventies and eighties sitcom theme songs than to the slash and wallop of rap. (Try listening to "5ves" without picturing the opening credits of "Taxi.") Heiruspecs have seamlessly incorporated elements of soul, pop and jazz, sculpting a nicely diversified album experience. --David Greenberger

MF Doom Produced By RJD2 - Saliva

Most people think Doom didn't hit the map until MadVillainy with Madlib. Not true. He was BANGIN WAY back in the day. After his KMD days, he rocked two good releases before he got any mainstream attention. This is the BEST of those efforts. There's a lot of script/skit nonsense tracks, but the last four or five are Doom classics.

People Under The Stairs - Acid Rain Drops

The westcoast underground will always thrive and live in my CD collection because it is traditionally down to earth, humanistic and uplifting hip hop. People Under the Stairs are no exception to the rule. Unless you live in the Bay Area, which I don't, you won't know much about these guys. It was a complete fluke (in an obscure record store while looking for old Gregory Isaacs albums) that I stumbled upon these guys and boy am I thankful. Homeboy was pumping "Montego Slay" at the cash and the rest is history.

"Acid Raindrops" not only features Mr. Rogers but also lays down a groove that will bring you that much closer to your earphones.

Felt - 20 Answers

On tour back in 2001, Murs and Slug were in a van driving from Eugene, OR to San Francisco, CA. Near Weed, CA on highway 5 South, there was a heated discussion over which rapper had the better chance of sleeping with Christina Ricci. Blueprint didn't care, so he stayed out of the debate. Dibbs thought she was too skinny and liked her better when she weighed more. Brother Ali just thought her head was too big.

The argument lasted seventeen miles and continued while the van pulled off the road for gas and snacks. In the Shell station's restroom, while in two separate stalls, Murs and Slug decided to make a record dedicated to Christina Ricci (with the hope of either Murs or Slug succeeding in having sex with her). Built on friendly competition, it was also an experiment to see if a rap record would be able to help breathe new life into her career. Pumpkin was alright, but it's no Pecker, nor is it equal to her role as Lucy in Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, and that was 1998.

Busdriver-The Troglodyte Wins (Live in Atlanta) Remix

Busdriver (Regan Farquhar) is one of those rare hip-hop artists -- he has talent, creativity, and he's more interested in abstract lyrics than about more lame shooting/sex/drugs raps.

During this live performance of "The Troglodyte Wins" in Atlanta featuring ANTImc, they both appear to be wearing I LOVE MEN sweat shirts. The camera does a zoom in and you can clearly see that the N is crossed out of MEN. Personally I thought this was very humorous.
